Q: Do you do scans at 13 weeks?
We know that for the pictures our clients are looking for, 13 weeks is just too early in your little one’s development to see his/her features clearly as well as to clearly determine the sex of your baby.
Q: What are the best weeks to come in and see the development of my little one?
Weeks 14-15 because we can capture full body of your little one as well as determine his/her gender.
Week 25 because your little one is well formed and those chubby cheeks are developing.
Weeks 30-32 because your little one’s chubby legs, arms, and baby bum are almost fully developed so we can get very real and details images.
Q: How many scans can I do during my pregnancy?
You can have as many scans as you like during your pregnancy (personally we have seen the upwards of 8 scans in one pregnancy), but normally 3 scans capture the development of your little one nicely.
Q: When was Angel Prints® started?
Angel Prints® began on August 15, 2006.
Q: How many scans has Angel Prints® performed?
Between our locations, we have easily been able to share with over 10,000 families their little ones.
Q: What is an elective prenatal ultrasound?
We offer elective 2D and 4D prenatal ultrasounds to provide a positive bonding experience for the mother, father, and family members with the unborn baby. We feel that realistic surface images provide a connection between the parents and baby that can be beneficial to the whole family. We make no claims that 3-D as used in this examination is performed to better assess the gestational age of the fetus and to evaluate for fetal anomalies as well as the basic components of fetal anatomy recommended for screening.
Q: Does this take place of an ultrasound at my doctor’s office?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with Angel Prints Ultrasound MUST be receiving treatment with a healthcare provider for prenatal care and have already undergone a medical, diagnostic ultrasound ordered by their provider to confirm their due date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to look for any other pregnancy related issues. The issues that we are evaluating in the elective prenatal ultrasound session include a limited diagnostic scan to confirm heartbeat, the number of babies in the pregnancy, the position of the baby, and the placental location. Please note, at no time is this exam to be used in place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.
Q: Is it safe? Are there any risks to me, or my baby?
Extensive studies over 30 years have found that ultrasound has not been shown to cause any harm to mother or baby. Routine scanning of all pregnancies is now normal throughout the United States. In 3D/4D scanning exactly the same type and intensity of ultrasound is used as with conventional 2D scanning. 3D and 4D Ultrasound both utilize sound waves to look inside the body. The technology is similar to radar. A probe placed on the body emits sound waves into the body, listens for the return echo and generates an image. 4D ultrasound will be similar to a conventional scan in terms of exposure.
Q: Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for all of our services.
Q: How long does the 3D and 4D ultrasound take?
On average the actual scanning portion of your 4D ultrasound session will last between 20 and 30 minutes, but it can take up wards of 45 minutes to one hour depending upon how many little ones you are carrying, how clear the amniotic fluid is, and how active your little one is during your appointment.
Q: How far along should I be before I have a 4D ultrasound?
If you plan on having only one 4D ultrasound examination, we would recommend having the examination performed between the 24th and 32nd week of pregnancy. However, excellent images of your baby can be obtained anytime after about 22 weeks of pregnancy. Many mothers obtain more than one 4D ultrasound and have images to enjoy from their second and third trimesters.
Q: Will I always get a beautiful image of my baby?
Usually, but not always. Sometimes if the baby is persistently looking face down, i.e. towards your spine, it may be difficult to see the baby’s face. If this happens, a repeat scan will usually succeed because the baby has turned to a favorable position. We make no promises that the images will be similar to those you might have seen elsewhere or even from our clinic, or that we can always meet everyone’s expectations. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition. We promise to make every effort to obtain the best possible images of whatever parts of the baby that can be seen.
Q: Can I bring my family and friends?
Yes. In fact, we encourage our clients to invite family and friends to attend the elective 4D ultrasound session. We can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people in our theater atmosphere. This is a joyous and wonderful experience, one that can be shared with your family and loved ones.
Q: Are you able to tell the sex of the baby?
Yes, in most cases we can provide an indication of the sex of the baby. We can’t however guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. Certain factors such as body tissue content, developmental stage and fetal position all affect the ability to determine sex.
Q: How long will my scan take?
Your scan itself will be around 25-35, but we recommend that you plan on being with us for an hour to take in this exciting experience.
Q: What does the imaging suite look like?
Our imaging suites are designed with your comfort in mind. Our living room like atmosphere makes your scan experience enjoyable for all. Our large screens make it easy for all to view your little one. And our procedure bed will have you relaxing in pure comfort as we check out your little one.
Q: Will I get pictures from my session?
Of course, you will! You will leave with printed pictures as well as have the ultrasound pics transferred to your cell phone so that you can share your excitement with everyone.
Q: Why did you decide to open Angel Prints?
We truly believe that life is a miracle and that LOVE is the most important thing that you and your little one need.
Q: Is the 4D ultrasound covered by insurance?
Currently, insurance does not cover the costs of our ultrasounds. Since this is an elective procedure and is not intended to be a replacement for your doctor ordered ultrasound, you will need to pay the cost of this ultrasound as an out of pocket expense. We accept all major credit card and require full or partial payment when scheduling.
Q: What kind of ultrasound equipment do you use to perform the 4D ultrasounds?
We use the state of the art GE Voluson 730 Expert to complete all ultrasound examinations. The GE Voluson 730 Expert has been seen in GE television commercials and many printed articles from around the world. This machine is the best 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound machine available. Please note, many organizations claim to use “state-of-the-art” equipment, when in fact they use older or inferior technology.

Q: What is the best time to do a scan?
14 weeks and up will give you the best pictures all throughout your little one’s development
Q: What should I wear?
Comfy clothes are the best that give easy access to your stomach. Dresses are not ideal.
Q: How should I prepare for my appointment?
Stay hydrated. Minimize your soda and coffee intake. No Redbull or Monster drinks ideally due to the dehydrating nature.
Q: What if I come in for an ultrasound and do not get a complete package or leave with pictures?
It is our top priority at Angel Prints Ultrasound to obtain the best images of your baby to complete your packages. We use the finest imaging system in the industry; however, some factors that determine the outcome of your ultrasound include: location of your placenta, the amount of fluid surrounding the baby, the clarity of the amniotic fluid, the baby’s position inside the womb, and the overall fetal environment.
Gender determination package: If we are unable to determine the gender of your child at your appointment due to factors that can’t be controlled by our sonographers, you will be asked to reschedule for a second appointment at your convenience within the next 12 days free of charge.
3D Ultrasound Pictures: We make no guarantees that images will be similar to those you might have seen elsewhere or even from our imaging center. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age, position, amount of fluid, and mother’s condition.
Q: Will my belly peircings (belly button or dermal) effect my ultrasound images?
When you come in for an ultrasound and do have a peircing we will ask you to remove it. If this is not possible we will do our best to capture the best images, but there is no guarantee on the images without knowing how your baby is positioned.
